Friday 19 September 2025 will mark worldwide ‘i-Recognise Day’, an annual event created to raise the profile of the cleaning sector.
i-Recognise day was started seven years ago as a way for people to acknowledge cleaning operatives across the globe who deliver an invaluable and essential service. The ‘Recognise’ part stands for ‘Respect Every Cleaning Operative Giving Necessary Importance to Services and Environments’.
On 19 September, the organisers are encouraging all businesses to get involved to thank their cleaning operatives and show appreciation. Using the hashtag #iRecognise2025 on social media is recommended, and posters and other materials and ideas are available on the i-Recognise website to help promote the day.
The date was chosen as it falls alongside 20 September, ‘World Clean Up Day’, an initiative spanning more than 158 countries where everyone is encouraged to get involved to do their bit to ‘Clean Up’ the Environment.
Over the last few years, more and more organisations have joined in supporting i-Recognise, including organisations like ISS, Serco, Tersano, i-team, Killis and many more. i-Recognise Day is also proud to be endorsed by BICSc and support the Made Blue Foundation. Made Blue’s mission is to provide as many people as possible access to clean drinking water.
