Interserve Wins B&Q Contract Extension

Interserve has been awarded a three-year, £35million contract extension with B&Q to provide cleaning services across its entire UK estate.
The partnership began in 2006 with Interserve cleaning 182 stores. This has now increased to include all 361 B&Q stores throughout the UK and Ireland, and will be delivered by a 1,400-strong team.
Included in the service provision is a new LEAN cleaning model introducing innovations, equipment and processes to improve customer services and cleaning delivery.
Paul Daly, Managing Director for National Accounts at Interserve, said: “Over the past eight years we have built an excellent working partnership with B&Q, introducing a number of efficiencies through our LEAN processes such as water saving systems that reduce water usage by up to 90%, and mopping techniques that dry floors 75% faster.
“We have also implemented processes to ensure that high importance zones are prioritised and response times are improved by 100% so that areas are in service at all times. This approach is fundamental to our service provision, and we look forward to continuing to support B&Q in achieving their business goals.”
Under an additional £6million contract, Interserve also provides catering to all 89 B&Q café stores as well as in five B&Q distribution centres through its Autograph brand.
