National Engravers Reveal New Range of Branded Cleaning Stations

The UK’s leading 5S product provider has confirmed the addition of three new Cleaning Station options for UK manufacturers, focused on lean management principles. The wall mounted, freestanding and mobile Cleaning Stations by National Engravers improve workplace organisation by offering dedicated storage boards for organising tools and cleaning supplies.
Robust and durable, the Cleaning Stations form an integral part of the five phases of 5S, a workplace organisation philosophy of lean manufacturing, working more efficiently in order to increase productivity and reduce waste. Each Shadow Board provides a fixed shadow which specific cleaning equipment such as mops, brooms and buckets can be attached to. Wholly bespoke, the wall mounted, free standing and mobile options can all be custom designed to suit their environment and purpose. This includes the addition of specific tool shape compatibility, company logos, colours and branding.
Anna McCarthy, National Engravers’ Senior Partner, said: “There is little doubt that every UK manufacturer, whether they are a large established brand, public sector body or SME, can benefit from the addition of optimised processes and efficient practises to minimise waste. Our newly launched range of visual workplace solutions helps our clients to quickly and easily implement this ideology, and promote a culture of ownership within the workplace.
“Our variation on the basic shadow board fulfils a number of lean foundation functions. They help to ensure that workplaces run as efficiently as possible by better organising the cleaning process.” Each Cleaning Station is suitable for use both indoors and outdoors, and is laminated for extra durability. The design and layout are digitally printed, with lamination onto a variety of substrates including Aluminium board, Foamex, Parlight, MDF, PVC and acrylic offered.
The mobile version is particularly valuable when used in large manufacturing plants and shop floors – its aluminium frame is expertly made with adjustable casters and a supporting frame to hold the cleaning station board in place at all times. Coupling versatile design with robust manufacturing, the freestanding Cleaning Station provides an effective, efficient solution in locations where wall assembly is impossible.
All the fixings for attaching utensils to the Cleaning Stations are included, and National Engravers will advise clients on the most appropriate fixings for specific requirements during the initial design consultation, and can supply the cleaning products if needed. Lesley Francours, Lean Consultant, said: “60% of non-conformance issues arising from audits carried out in the UK relate to poor housekeeping and the improper care of small manufacturing and hygiene utensils. Cleaning Stations can remove this danger and promote a culture of ownership within the workplace.
“They are incredibly useful when it comes to implementing lean principles, by highlighting lost or misplaced accessories and identifying damaged or deteriorating tools. With dedicated locations for each item and easy fixing to the board, each staff member knows exactly where to find their required tools – this makes for a much more productive workplace. ‘A place for everything and everything in its place’, as the old adage goes.”
National Engravers provides full support at every stage of the Cleaning Station creation process, from design through to manufacturing. Additionally, a free consultation from a National Engravers lean advisor before ordering ensure manufacturers exploit all available workplace efficiencies.
Each bespoke visual tool provides an effective entry point into 5S concepts for staff members. National Engravers also offers an extensive aftercare service to help clients further develop and implement lean management strategies, and the three Cleaning Station options are available now and can be fully customized with company designs, artwork and logos.
