Vectair Systems Crowned One Of The Greenest Manufacturers In The World For V-Air® SOLID

Published on 11/11/2016
Following last year’s success of being recognised as an ‘International Green World Ambassador’, Vectair Systems has now won a prestigious ‘Green World Environment Award’ in the international campaign to find the greenest countries, companies and communities.
Basingstoke-based hygiene manufacturer Vectair competed against more than 500 other nominations in the Green World Awards for Environmental Best Practice, and was presented with a trophy and certificate at a glittering presentation in Bucheon, South Korea on 28th October. Vectair won the Bronze Award in the Engineering and Manufacturing category for its environmentally-friendly V-Air® SOLID multi-phasing air freshener with sub-micron technology.
V-Air® SOLID is classified as VOC exempt and waste-free. It is completely free of any solvents, propellants, HFCs and harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs). V-Air® SOLID contains no batteries and is classed as non-hazardous for transportation methods. It is designed so that it does not need any external power source and it doesn’t rely on gravity – all it needs to work is natural airflow. The refill is biodegradable and the dispenser is 100% recyclable. The V-Air® Solid cartridge clip and plastic packaging components are manufactured from recycled and recyclable plastics.
The award judges commented: “Air fresheners in public facilities are products that are more likely noticed when they are not installed, but when used they can have VOC, recycling and waste implications. Vectair are major global suppliers and wanted to improve the sustainability of these products, so they invented a recyclable and biodegradable passively dispersed system that uses no propellants or electricity – yet performs as well as any other system.”
Paul Wonnacott, Managing Director and President of Vectair Systems said: “We are thrilled that we have been recognised not only on a national level, but on a global level for our V-Air® SOLID air freshener. We pride ourselves on being innovators in hygiene and the environment is something that our customers are increasingly becoming aware of.”
The awards are organised by The Green Organisation, an international, independent, non-political, non-profit environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world. They are supported by the Environment Agency, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, the Chartered Institution for Wastes Management and other independent bodies.
