Bicester Village’s Cleaning Team Reach New Levels

Published on 01/12/2015
Members of the team responsible for cleaning at Bicester Village, a luxury shopping destination in the Oxfordshire countryside, are being upskilled through a new training programme.
Five retail cleaners from Grosvenor Services, who are part of the 40-strong team responsible for cleaning luxury shopping destination Bicester Village, are undergoing a staff development initiative delivered by Preston-based training specialist Jigsaw Training.
Jigsaw Training has joined forces with Grosvenor Services on a pilot programme in retail facilities management.
Mary Horgan, HR Director of Grosvenor Services said: “We firmly believe in supporting our people and offering them opportunities to further develop their skills and to progress in their careers. This new training programme shows our commitment to our people.
“These members of staff have shown how keen they are to develop and have embraced this opportunity. This training will help them to reach their full potential.
“Ensuring our staff are trained to the highest standards and are encouraged to continually develop is a benefit to them and their future careers, our company and our customers.”
During the pilot programme, employees will work towards a BIFM qualification in levels two and three, which takes 12 months to two years to complete.
The topics they will cover during the training include procurement, budget management, corporate social responsibility and building maintenance.
James Blackhurst, Managing Director of Jigsaw Training, added: “It’s great for the staff at Grosvenor Services being given the opportunity of developing skills and through an employer who is keen to commit to them.
“This group has been identified as potentially being some of Grosvenor Services next generation of managers and the training we deliver will enable them to get a step closer to that goal. We will ensure they receive the relevant support so they get the most out of this programme.”
