First Company To Achieve SAM Accreditation

Published on 14/05/2014
JA Lee Window & General Cleaning Contractors Ltd are the very first company to achieve the new Safety Accredited Member (SAM) status.
Established in 1980, JA Lee Window & General Cleaning Contractors Ltd has been cleaning windows successfully for 34 years. Andrew Lee, owner and director of the company, made a New Year resolution to be the first company in 2014 to complete the FWC Safety accredited Member SAM scheme, and he did.
Based in Cumbria, they were delighted with the accreditation and has also been impressed with the response from the industry, with many new clients choosing to use JA Lee for their window cleaning services, comfortable in the knowledge that JA Lee are competent in all aspects of health and safety. Andrew stated that whilst his company also has Safe Contractor and Constructionline accreditation,SAM is a step up for all window cleaners, as it goes further than other safety procurement schemes, as it is written for window cleaners by competently trained professionals.
It is also the only industry specific procurement scheme, as well as being a training-based product rather than paper-based, meaning that all company employees had to initially undertake IOSH Accredited training in the use of ladders and waterfed poles.
Andrew, who is also Federation of Window Cleaners Chairman and Safety Officer, reiterated that SAM is the way forward for all professional window cleaners—from one-man businesses to companies employing hundreds of window cleaners.
