Ideal’s Own Family Guy Bags Award Win

Ideal Manufacturing had double the reason to celebrate at the Midlands Family Business Awards this year, as Phillip Kalli received a Highly Commended award in the Director of the Year (Under 40) category, whilst the Northampton-based company was selected as a finalist in the Employer of the Year category.

The winners were announced in front of 300 guests during a celebratory black tie dinner at Leicester’s Athena.

The Midlands Family Business Awards are the UK’s only independent and not-for-profit initiative for family businesses, created and organised by Wilsons. The awards showcase the achievements of family businesses and their leaders, giving the region’s best run and most innovative family businesses the chance to shine.

Phillip Kalli, son of founder and Managing Director Dr Mike Kalli, commented: “I was really overwhelmed by the kind comments from the judges and really honoured to have been recognised for all the effort, care and creativity that we’ve put into developing Ideal’s position in the laundry and textile care industry.

“We have a fantastic team – and there’s a genuine family business ethos at Ideal that extends way beyond my father and I. We love what we do and we have fun doing it – I hope it shows through.”

The judges were looking for individuals that have made a significant difference to their organisation along with evidence of achievement and how the family values have influenced the business.

Prior to the ceremony, all 44 shortlisted finalists faced a panel of judges, which included David Robinson, the President of Speedo International, Bobby Kalar of family business Yu Energy and Tim Storer of Pukka Pies.
