Xeros Growth Plans Lead To New Appointment

Washing machine manufacturer Xeros has appointed Tony Kerr as European Sales and Marketing Director as the company strives to build its customer base in the UK and Europe.

Mr Kerr has joined Xeros from Girbau UK, a manufacturer of commercial laundry equipment, where he was UK sales manager for three years. His appointment comes as Xeros focuses on business development in Europe.

Originally from Gormanston, County Meath, Ireland, Mr Kerr said: “Xeros is a company with innovation at its heart and it is this which appealed to me. This is ground-breaking technology which addresses the needs and concerns of commercial laundries throughout the world and makes a real difference to customers in terms of energy efficiency, water usage and cost savings.”

Welcoming Mr Kerr, Bill Westwater, Xeros Chief Executive Officer, said: “Tony has extensive experience in sales, including within our own sector. He has a clear passion for driving businesses forward and his skills will be beneficial to the whole team. Indeed, part of his remit is to create a more sales-focused attitude amongst everyone at Xeros to enable us to grow.”

The science applied by Xeros in its technology was initially developed at the University of Leeds. The Xeros system allows for mixed colour fabrics not requiring separating as stray dyes are absorbed by the beads, and the gentler cleaning action combined with lower wash temperatures means clothes stay looking new for longer. The beads are used hundreds of times without losing their effectiveness, before being recycled into the polymer supply chain.

Xeros’ customers include commercial laundries and sites within leading global hotel chains, notably in the USA. Current British-based partners include London dry cleaning specialist White Rose Laundries and international washroom hygiene, mat, work wear and textile solution provider the CWS-boco Group.
