Art Cleaning Services become challenge heroes for Children in Need
Published on 20/11/2014
Art Cleaning Services donned some special outfits to raise money for Children in Need. The commercial window cleaners became challenge heroes for the BBC charity, by wearing special Pudsey onesies whilst out on the job.
Aiming to raise £2,000 to support disadvantaged children and young people across the UK, the Art Cleaning Services team descended the University of Birmingham, City Hospital Birmingham and Worcestershire Health & Care Trust, all while wearing the distinctive yellow costume in a challenge they called “Coming to a Window Near You...Pudsey!”
The effort has been appreciated by the BBC, as the team were filmed by BBC Midlands Today during the day. They also featured on the regional news programme showing the activities that had taken place for Children in Need over the weekend, and were invited to the Birmingham studios for the evening’s broadcast.
Jodie Hart, Director of Art Cleaning Services was delighted with how the day went. She said: “When we decided to get involved in Children in Need we didn’t realise how incredibly rewarding it would be, or how much hard work it would be. As a company we often give to charity, however, we had never organised an official event before.
“This year we reached a landmark milestone at Art Cleaning of 15 years trading and what better way to celebrate it than to send our team out dressed as Pudsey bears! The highlight of the event was being invited to the Birmingham live show on the Friday evening. Being surrounded by likeminded people who had come together in weird and wacky ways to raise money for such a worthwhile cause was humbling.
“As a company we have always been passionate about our community, especially with the majority of our employees having grown up within it. Raising money for Children in Need will help support local projects make a difference to the children’s lives growing up in our community now.”
Jodie revealed that the company have already raised more than £1,600 for Children in Need, and are well on the way of reaching their two grand target.
