Servest Group Wins Multi-Million Pound Contract With Great Western Railway

Servest Group has recently won a three-year cleaning contract with Great Western Railway.
Servest Group has recently begun a three-year cleaning contract with one of the UK’s leading rail operators.

Servest, the fast-growing multi-service provider, will provide comprehensive cleaning services to 102 stations and 150 trains for the Great Western Railway franchise. Around 350 members of staff will be involved in delivering cleaning services to the entire network, encompassing station cleaning and train cleaning, across a large geographical spread. This will include turnaround and in-transit cleans, as well as cleaning the trains at the depot overnight ready to go back into service the following day.

Operating train services across the west, from Penzance to Paddington and across the South, South West and Wales, Great Western Railway is currently undertaking the biggest fleet upgrade in a generation. As such, Great Western was looking for an innovative partner that possessed knowledge and experience of working within this specialist sector.

Following a competitive tender process, Servest, with a proven track record in supporting operations of a similar scale, was awarded the contract based on its expertise in the disciplines required to deliver a bespoke, high quality solution.

Johan Venter, Servest’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “This is a hugely exciting contract for the Group. One of our key business ambitions is to grow our rail portfolio. Being awarded one of the largest and most prestigious contracts in the UK offers the best platform that we can possibly have to move forward. The win demonstrates Servest’s capability in this area and we’re delighted to have been trusted as a partner.”
