Grosvenor Services Wins ‘Excellence In Health And Safety’ At Facilities Management Awards

Grosvenor Services has won the ‘Excellence in health and safety’ category at the Facilities Management Awards 2016. The award recognises outstanding health and safety initiatives by an FM organisation in 2015, while also demonstrating clear practical applications and results.

Grosvenor Services is committed to ensuring that client workplaces not only receive quality service delivery but also have the highest levels of health and safety. Leading by example, the facilities management provider implemented a significant number of new measures during 2015 to further develop the culture of safety among its workforce and, ultimately, improve staff well-being.

The programme was led by Grosvenor Services’ Director of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality, George Parish. Initiatives are being rolled out across Grosvenor Services’ operations in Ireland, the UK and the USA.

By focusing less on legislation, policies and processes and more on the everyday aspects of service delivery, Grosvenor Services has made health and safety more accessible and a standard part of its business. Recognising that narrowly avoided mishaps provide insightful data, it also implemented a ‘near miss’ programme, documenting and tracking accidents that were prevented. Total reported accidents during 2015 were down 27% from the previous year, as a direct result of the programme, and continue to fall.

George Parish said: “We’ve taken a holistic approach to improving safety, showing that it’s everybody’s responsibility to look after each other. Our programme is designed both to improve staff well-being and ensure a safer working environment on our client sites. We are delighted to have received this accolade as recognition of our continued focus on promoting a safe working environment for all.”

Grosvenor Services were also short-listed for the Client and Service Provider Partnership of the Year, FM Project of the Year – Retail, and FM Project of the Year – Tourism and Leisure awards.

The Facilities Management Awards is the premier event for showcasing outstanding achievements in Ireland’s FM industry. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, July 5th at the Ballsbridge Hotel, Dublin.
