Emprise Jumps On Board to Help Sea Cadets Clean Up
Published on 07/06/2016
It was all hands on deck for Emprise after it sent a team from its cleaning division to help with a full deep clean of the Islington Sea Cadet Unit.
Known for its strong commitment to community and charity projects, the company was contacted by the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners to see if it could assist the Islington Sea Cadets in preparing their premises for re-opening.
Emprise was delighted to support the iniative and the team were more ably assisted by Derrick Vellosa, a member of the Cadet’s committee.
Mr Vellosa said: “Having been unused for around two years, the Sea Cadet Unit we have in Islington is in need of refurbishment and really needed a good ‘deep clean’.
“There is a big push by the Borough to re-open this once thriving unit but the committee is struggling to raise funds for the repairs, so we are extremely grateful to Emprise for their help.”
Mark Little, Managing Director of Emprise’s cleaning division, added: “When we were asked if we could support the Sea Cadet Unit, we were only too pleased to offer our services. Emprise is proud to be associated with our military services and provide support where we can. The Cadet Unit needed some TLC and we’re delighted that after thorough cleaning it’s now shipshape.”
The work included a full dust down of all floors, all carpets and hard floors cleaned, all seating deep cleaned, toilets and showers were descaled and deep cleaned and kitchens degreased and deep cleaned.
The Sea Cadets provide activities and training for young people including sailing, engineering, communications, catering, administration and physical training. Many of the activities result in nationally recognised qualifications.
