Don Bruce, Formerly of SANODA, Dies Aged 85

Don Bruce, formerly of SANODA, has sadly died at the age of 85.

Here at Tomorrow’s Cleaning, we’re sad to report news that Don Bruce (formerly of SANODA), a life-long friend and supporter of the Cleaning Industry, has sadly passed away at the age of 85.

Many of you reading this will remember Don as a customer, supplier, partner, colleague or friend, but to all he was one of those people that was real fun to have around – gentle in his approach, assertive in conversation but always prepared to listen to others.

He was also incredibly proud of his slightly outrageous socks and ties which gave him a reputation amongst those that he met and ensured he was never forgotten.

While Sales Director at SANODA he was a familiar visitor to janitorial distributors in the UK and Ireland, as he chased orders for soap, detergents, air fresheners, toilet cleaners and for those old enough to remember, those ‘pineapple chunks’ that could be found in men’s urinals.

In his spare time, he was an avid follower of Stoke City and a keen fisherman, spending hours relaxing on the canal in Waverton, both of which were often the source of his funny stories, which he told to many on his travels.

Like others before, the Cleaning Industry has lost another fun-loving, charismatic member, who will be sadly missed, but he leaves behind many fond memories.

Mark Hanson, Publisher of Tomorrow’s Cleaning, commented: “Don was one of the true gentlemen of the cleaning industry. He will be missed by many.

“My thoughts go out to his family at this sad time.”

The funeral for Don will take place at 10.40am on Thursday 24th March at Chester Crematorium, Blacon Avenue, Blacon, Chester, Cheshire, CR1 5BB. For more information, please contact Martin Burlingham at MBurlingham@VectairSystems.com.
