New Finance Manager Appointed At Xeros
Published on 25/11/2014
Revolutionary washing machine manufacturer Xeros has appointed Mark Webber as finance manager to advise on growing business with commercial laundries across the UK.
South Yorkshire-based Xeros has developed the first genuine innovation in laundering for more than six decades; water is largely replaced by polymer beads that absorb stains, dye and soil carrying them away from fabrics. The Xeros system uses 75% less water, 50% less energy and 50% less detergent compared to conventional machines.
Mr Webber has joined Xeros from sports accessories and apparel distributor, Zyro, and has enjoyed a successful career spanning manufacturing, distribution and service industries in both finance and commercial operational roles, including eight years with JLA, one of the largest commercial laundry providers in the UK.
He said: “I am joining Xeros at a very exciting time, when products are being launched and sales are increasing. My experience in the commercial laundry sector will be a great benefit in expanding the company’s reach into this area and I’m looking forward to being a part of Xeros’ growth in the coming months and years.”
The technology used by Xeros was initially developed at the University of Leeds and brings numerous benefits to customers, which include leading commercial laundries and hotel groups in the UK and USA. Customers do not have to separate most colours as stray dyes are absorbed by the beads and the gentler cleaning action combined with lower wash temperatures mean clothes stay looking new for longer. The beads’ resilience also allows them to be used hundreds of times without losing their effectiveness.
Welcoming Mr Webber, Bill Westwater, Xeros CEO, said: “Mark’s financial experience, added to the years he spent with one of the UK’s leading commercial laundries, gives him enormous insight into how we can grow Xeros and makes him a great asset to the business.”
