HYDRO APPOINTS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR

Hydro Systems has appointed John Shields as Managing Director of Hydro Systems Europe. John joined Hydro Systems in January this year as the organisation’s European Sales Director, and brings with him an extensive background in sales, manufacturing and finance, plus a wealth of experience gained in senior executive roles within the cleaning industry. As Managing Director, John will lead Hydro Systems’ entire European operation, which also extends to the Middle-East, Africa and parts of Asia.

Speaking of his time at Hydro so far and his recent appointment, John said: “It has been a great year for Hydro Systems Europe. We have been successful in growing the business throughout 2014 and there is plenty of headroom for future growth, both close to home and abroad. I’m thrilled to take up the position of Managing Director for Hydro Systems Europe, and look forward to the exciting growth opportunities that lie ahead.”

Prior to joining Hydro Systems, John was General Manager and Group Sales Director for Brightwell Dispensers. In his career, John has also held long-term senior executive positions with Dudley Industries (a Rentokil Initial subsidiary), Lyons Tetley, and Monsanto.

John added: “We have a strong team, a truly comprehensive range of products for a wide variety of applications (including some exciting new innovations in the pipeline), and a high level of support from our parent company and the Dover Group. This puts us in a strong position to continue expanding the business throughout the rest of 2014 and beyond.”
