DEEPCLEAN PLANS FOR GROWTH WITH CHANGES TO TR/19
Published on 15/09/2014
Bromsgrove-based DeepClean Hygiene Solutions are ideally positioned for significant growth, with changes to cleaning standard TR19 from the Building and Engineering Services Association (B&ES).
DeepClean Hygiene Solutions are specialists in the superior cleaning of commercial kitchens and air extraction systems, and are enjoying steady growth year-on-year. Their plans have been fuelled by the Building and Engineering Services Association (B&ES) which have updated their Guide to Good Practice TR19 – Internal Cleanliness of Ventilation Systems; as a respected member of the B&ES, DeepClean Hygiene Solutions are trusted by many well-known brands up and down the country, to meet these cleaning requirements and minimise the fire risk that grease in ventilation ductwork can pose.
The revision to the TR/19 standard has been driven by the need to bring the process in line with new British and European standards and current best practice. Tony Waghorn, Managing Director at DeepClean Hygiene Solutions Ltd, explained: “The classification of cleaning regimes into high, medium and low risk, is one of the big differences to the TR/19 standard. A detailed revision of Section 7 of the document relates specifically to kitchen extraction fire safety cleaning, where usage dictates number of cleans required in a 12 month period. TR/19 now incorporates alignment with the new British and European standard BS EN15780.”
Tony added: “We always operate at the highest regulatory standard and take our membership of the B&ES very seriously. Our clients come to us, wanting the peace of mind that we deliver the highest quality clean with all the necessary documentation to meet regulatory standards. Our three-year growth plan fits perfectly with these changes, and it puts us in an even stronger position in the marketplace, as Facilities Managers and professional caterers all look for a trusted cleaning partner.”
Many insurers are now demanding that cleaning should be carried out in accordance with the Guide to Good Practice TR/19 – Internal Cleanliness of Ventilation Systems. With this, only contractors who can comply with this guidance should be retained, placing this responsibility on key decision makers who make the choice on who cleans their kitchens – a key reason why DeepClean Hygiene Solutions are ideally placed to deliver even more cleaning solutions.
The importance of best practice when cleaning grease extraction systems has been further highlighted, with figures published by the Fire and Rescue Services, stating that “70% of fires in commercial kitchens originate in dirty or contaminated ventilation due to fat and grease build up”. As there are more instances of fire from lack of cleaning, regulations will no doubt become tighter and insurances companies become even more rigorous on post-clean documentation.
