Top Class Cleaning At Salvation Army’s International HQ

Worldwide Christian church and charity, The Salvation Army, has awarded Julius Rutherfoord the cleaning contract for its headquarters and new training facilities.

The Salvation Army’s International College for Officers is relocating to Sunbury Court, near London, following a major redevelopment of existing facilities. The site consists of a conference centre and a Grade II listed mansion, which is being extensively restored and renovated. Accommodation is also being developed at the site – with 85 rooms planned.

London specialists in cleaning and hygiene, Julius Rutherfoord will be responsible for cleaning the entire complex, which will be used by delegates and affiliated organisations from across the world. The contract involves maintaining the conference facilities and providing hotel-style housekeeping for the accommodation, to include towel and laundry services and toiletry replenishment.

In addition, Julius Rutherfoord is already responsible for the daily cleaning of the Salvation Army’s international headquarters in London. The six-storey premises, built in 2004 – the third Salvation Army building on the site since 1871 - comprises 34,681ft2 of office space, including a basement café and a chapel.

James Bennett, Operations Director at Julius Rutherfoord, said: “We are delighted to be working with this renowned charity which has a long history of helping vulnerable and marginalised people across the world.

“One of the reasons we were successful in winning this contract was that we demonstrated extensive experience in delivering a quality cleaning service to similar sized organisations across London. We are also responsible for protecting and maintaining different fabrics within both modern and historic buildings for a number of high profile organisations.”

Julius Rutherfoord uses innovative systems to effectively and efficiently manage the cleaning and grounds maintenance requirements across large estates, including vehicle tracking, technology, cleaner attendance monitoring and a sophisticated scheduling and communications application for operatives’ mobile devices.
