London Cleaning Show Tops Agenda At BCC Meeting In Derby

Next year’s London Cleaning Show was the key topic of agenda at the latest BCC meeting, held at the British Pest Control Association’s Derby headquarters.
The British Pest Control Association played host to the BCC’s last meeting of the year, as members heard that plans for next year’s Cleaning Show at the London Excel are in the advanced stages.

The show is expected to be almost double in size from the one held two years ago, with extra floor space filling up fast as potential exhibitors seek to get in on the act.

The success of the show means that the BCC’s own stand has had to be redesigned to be bigger and will now be shared with nine member associations.

The Council heard that the CSSA is getting lots of applications for its new awards, which will be presented at the show. It was also confirmed that the seminar programme is now finalised.

In a very busy meeting the Council considered an application for funding from the Domestic Cleaning Alliance, and heard from the DCA’s Stephen Munton about self-employment in the sector.

The board also approved a letter to be sent to one of the Ministers responsible for Brexit, emphasising the need for consultation with the industry during negotiations.

Looking ahead to next year, the Council discussed plans to celebrate its 35th anniversary. A special logo will be used throughout the year, with other promotions planned to mark the important milestone.

The meeting finished with a light lunch, and the Council would like to express its warmest thanks to Simon Forrester and his team at the BPCA for their hospitality.
